Pour son dernier jour avant la retraite, Dominique, une sage-femme au caractère bien trempé, est forcée de coopérer avec un jeune obstétricien arrogant. Ensemble, ils vont devoir accompagner cinq femmes à accoucher. Elles s’en souviendront toute leur vie…
